Through our services we hope for each student to gain self-control, discipline, organization & communication skills and a confidence that will last through-out life. In The Community…
1000+ Children Served So Far…
It is our top priority to work alongside our community to grow and develop learners of all ages! In 2022, we provided a STEM project over the summer to our students, we also partnered with The City Life Center in Gary Indiana servicing 315 children (adding up to a total of 500 children since the beginning of our program). We have since then increased our numbers tremendously. We offer a yearly Summer Camp, we participate in a plethora of back to school events, and we volunteer our services monthly at various locations in our community.

A Little Bit About Sparky Brains Tutoring
Sparky Brains Tutoring was founded in 2019. We begin our services with one tutor working with several students weekly in and out of the public libraries.
Just as business began to grow for Sparky Brains Tutoring our world was struck with a global pandemic. Our operation was shut down for 9 months, however during that time we were able to plan strategize and create ideas on how to make this business reach its highest potential.
Sparky Brains reopened virtually and began assisting students immediately. The need for our services became so great that Sparky Brains hired additional staff members that shared similar interest and supported the vision of Sparky Brains Tutoring.
We are a tutoring and mentoring service in Northwest Indiana that seeks to equip children and adults to learn, grow, enhance, and succeed!
We have now opened our doors for in-person session as well as virtual. Sparky Brains works with students as young as pre- kindergarten through 12th grade as well as adults. We focus on meeting each student where they are by assessing the need, defining the mission and setting goals and objectives.
Most tutoring, whether free or paid, is often designed to help students complete their homework. But as we all know, completing homework is only one key to academic success. Our sparky yet effective system gives your child one-to-one instruction that far exceeds typical out-of-school assistance.

Dominique Williams
Founder, Tutor
Before founding Sparky Brains Tutoring, Dominique took an interest in working in the educational field in 2010.
After one week of being a substitute teacher, it was then that she knew how passionate she was about making a difference in the lives of children. Dominique attended Indiana University Northwest for Elementary Education and has also completed The Para Pro Educator Program where she received her Certification.

Sheryl Araujo
Tutor
Sheryl has been working with children in churches and schools in Gary, Chicago, and California for over 30 years. She has three young adult children with her husband: One in trade school, one going to high school, and one college senior majoring in Biology in California. Through teaching and parenting her unique children, God has shown her that every child is distinct and can walk towards their goals in different ways. She has God-given ability to see and hear the needs of a child, then help them walk towards their purpose in life. Being a teacher is not just what she does, it is who she is!
Russell Thompson
Tutor
Russell has worked in the public school system as a Math teacher for 5 + years. He enjoys working with and encouraging young minds to be the best they can be. He believes that every student is capable of greatness, and he feels a large sense of fulfillment when he can be a part of students reaching that achievement. He is looking forward to working with your child!
Talitha Taylor
Tutor
With a Masters degree in Education with a specialization in Special Education, Mrs. Taylor has worked in childcare for 13 years and has worked in education for 9 years. Talitha has worked in childcare for 13 years and has worked as an educator for 9 years. After working as a substitute and paraprofessional, she now teaches at her local high school. She loves working with learners and believes that her ministry includes teaching exceptional learners while creating positive educational experiences for them. She seeks to provide a wide range academic abilities while equipping her students to be lifelong learners.
